yellow silk gauze long scarf
Fabric: Silk Gauze
Size:64" x 24"(160 x 60cm)
Silk gauze is a sheer, thin open weave fabric sometimes confused with organza. Silk organza is heavier and crisper. Like it sounds, silk gauze is more loosely woven, and and fairly floppy. Unlike its cotton cousin, silk gauze is not used for bandages.
Silk gauze is very lightweight and sheer, and can be gathered for bouffant uses, used alone or over other fabrics for closely-fitted to loosely-fitted blouses, dresses and evening wear. Also useful for facings, interfacings or lining. Both silk gauze and silk organza are easy to sew and don't show needle holes.
Washable, but wash it before cutting out. Click on the fabric care buttons to the left for more information on washing silks.
